Geotechnical Engineering

Know the ground.
Build for the future.

Experienced geotechnical engineering, backed by local knowledge.

Geotechnical engineering for your project.

With decades of experience across Franklin and the wider region, we understand local ground conditions and the challenges they can present. We bring that experience to every project, helping you understand what the ground means for your plans and what needs to be considered from the outset. This gives you confidence in the ground beneath your project.

We provide detailed geotechnical investigations and engineering to assess ground conditions, identify potential risks and support safe, compliant development. Every site is different. Working with homeowners, architects and developers, we investigate the ground and develop engineering solutions that respond directly to the conditions we find.
Geotechnical site investigations & reporting
Slope stability, liquefaction assessment
Earthworks design
Sediment control design
Construction monitoring
Producer statements (PS4)

No matter how small or large your project is, we’d love to be involved. Start with an initial consultation about your site and what you need to achieve.

Commonly asked questions

Not every project needs the same level of geotechnical investigation. The ground conditions, type of development, site constraints and consent requirements all influence what is needed. We can help determine whether an investigation is required and what level of assessment is appropriate for your project.

Ideally, bring us in early – before your plans and site layout are finalised. Understanding the ground conditions at the outset can help identify constraints early and inform decisions around building location, earthworks, retaining and site development.

The time required depends on the site and the level of investigation needed. We’ll determine the appropriate scope for your project, carry out the field investigation and provide a report with our findings and recommendations. We can discuss likely timeframes with you at the outset.
A geotechnical report helps you understand the ground conditions and any geotechnical issues that may affect your project. Depending on the site, this can include soil conditions, ground stability, earthworks and retaining requirements, and other factors that need to be considered in design and construction.

Challenging ground doesn’t necessarily mean a project can’t proceed. It means the design may need to respond to the conditions identified. We assess the risks and develop practical engineering solutions, which may include changes to the design, earthworks, retaining or other measures to achieve a stable and buildable outcome.
